Euroseas pursues legal action against CSL for charter repudiation
Greek container vessel owner Euroseas has announced it is pursuing legal action against Singapore-headquartered Continental Shipping Line (CSL).
Euroseas claims that CSL, the charterer of the 1,069 TEU boxship Aegean Express, repudiated its charter in January 2023.
“Continental Shipping Line, Singapore (CSL), the charterers of M/V Aegean Express, in January 2023 repudiated its charter as the vessel was completing its scheduled drydock,” said Euroseas in its financial report for 2022.
The Greek company, led by Aristides Pittas, announced total revenues of US$182.7 million for 2022, while its net income for the same period reached US$106.2 million.
Euroseas fleet includes 17 container vessels with an overall capacity of 53,261 TEUs, as of 15 February 2023, while the company has another nine boxhsips under construction.
