For an insight into the many changes, both positive and negative, that have occurred since Myanmar reopened to the world, Yangon shouldn't be missed. The country's largest city is a commercial and artistic hub, peppered with new hotels, restaurants, bars and shops, as well as major construction sites. Yangon is located in the southern part of the country on the east bank of the Yangon, or Hlaing River. Yangon is Myanmar’s main centre for trade and handles more than 80 percent of the country’s foreign commerce. Rice, teak, and metal ores are the principal exports. The city is also the centre of national rail, river, road, and air transportation; an international airport is located at Mingaladon, north of Yangon. Most noteworthy, Myanmar is one of the final frontiers for world travelers to visit. Aside from visiting the known landmarks such as The Strand Hotel or areas such as China Town, there’s the National Museum. There is one attraction that stands out above everything else, the magnificent 2,500 year old Shwedagon Pagoda.

For a country that spent decades living under a military dictatorship, really surprised at how nice Yangon was. Yangon is a relatively large city, a mix of old, crumbling British colonial buildings and much newer, modern buildings. The city is one of the safest in Asia, and foreigners are seldom robbed. However, the lack of development that has allowed to retain its colonial charm. But whatever do in Yangon, will find a vibrant and overwhelmingly friendly city that is quite different to any other.

With the expectation of building the out-standing services, efficient cost.to our esteemed customers and partners, TPG has been building our outbound LCL-FCL service from HCM to Yangon.
