Korean and Japanese Seafood “Making Inroads” into Vietnamese Market
Thanks to the remarkable development of the logistics sector and professional international transportation services, Vietnam has become a notable consumer market for frozen seafood imported from South Korea and Japan. Products such as sea cucumbers, oysters, pomfrets, geoduck clams, sea bream… are not only consumed heavily at restaurants and eateries serving Koreans and Japanese in Vietnam but are also favored by many Vietnamese consumers due to their competitive prices.
Vietnam is currently one of the major countries in food trade with South Korea and enjoys a close economic and cultural relationship with this partner country. The demand for products like seaweed, canned tuna… among Vietnamese consumers is increasing, similar to the Korean fondness for Vietnamese pho and bun cha. Therefore, the relevant agencies of South Korea have collaborated with supermarket chains in Vietnam to organize events introducing and promoting Korean seafood with discounts of up to 20% thanks to efficient transportation services and reasonable sea freight costs.

Similarly, Japanese seafood is also having a great opportunity in the Vietnamese market due to the increasing number of Japanese restaurants. The fast and quality-assured air transportation services provided by reputable logistics and freight forwarding companies have enabled fresh and delicious Japanese seafood to meet the consumer demand for raw consumption. Japanese businesses also choose Vietnam as a processing and distribution point for seafood to other markets, thanks to Vietnam’s existing processing experience and high-quality logistics and import-export services.
Not only imported seafood, but domestic products are also subject to many promotional programs launched by supermarkets to stimulate demand and increase competitiveness. However, to deliver goods to consumers quickly and efficiently, Vietnamese enterprises need to utilize the professional goods transportation services of major logistics companies. Particularly, with the development of e-commerce and the growing demand for international shipping, affordable and convenient express delivery services are highly popular.
The development of the logistics and transportation industry has opened up many new market opportunities for domestic and foreign enterprises while providing Vietnamese businesses with many options for professional goods transportation, import and export services.
