Developing a 50-Hectare Longan Growing Area for Export.
The National Agricultural Extension Center, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Sơn La Province, recently conducted an inspection and assessment of the development of the model “Building and Developing Anh Vang 205 Longan According to VietGAP Standards in Sơn La” for the 2023–2025 period.#
The model is being implemented on a total area of 50 hectares, including 15 hectares of grafted and renovated orchards and 35 hectares of newly planted orchards, located in Mai Sơn and Sông Ma districts and Sơn La City. Specifically, in 2023, 2 hectares were graft-renovated and 8 hectares newly planted; in 2024, 8 hectares graft-renovated and 27 hectares newly planted; and in 2025, 5 more hectares will be graft-renovated. According to evaluations, as of now, the Anh Vang 205 longan trees in both grafted and newly planted areas are growing well, with no significant signs of pests or diseases. Some early-planted areas have already begun to bloom, demonstrating the variety’s good adaptability to local natural conditions.Vietnam Freight forwarder#freight forwarding
The Anh Vang 205 longan variety has strong growth potential. Its distinctive morphological features include large leaves with a deep green color, slightly wavy edges, and prominent leaf veins. Its flowers are yellow, bloom in large clusters, with long stalks, usually appearing from January to February and blooming fully in March to April. The fruit ripens on time in July, forming grape-like clusters. Each fruit is round, thick-skinned, with a vibrant golden color. The flesh is light yellow, crispy, sweet, fragrant, easy to separate from the seed, and does not stick to the hands when peeled.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truong, a resident of Nong Phu hamlet, Chieng Mung commune, Mai Son district, is one of the pioneer farmers participating in the model from the early stage. His family has graft-renovated 1 hectare and newly planted another hectare of Anh Vang 205 longan. After nearly a year of following technical guidance, his grafted trees are producing golden blossoms, and the newly planted saplings are growing vigorously and have started budding.Vietnam Freight forwarder#freight forwarding#cargo courier service#international shipping companies#shipping service company
At nearly 70 years old, Mr. Truong still diligently tends each tree according to the proper techniques—from fertilizing and pruning to irrigation. He highly appreciates the Anh Vang 205 longan variety for its outstanding advantages compared to local types, especially its resistance to pests and its ability to reduce physiological fruit drop after pruning. He also praises the fruit’s quality—thick flesh, sweet aroma, and attractive appearance.Vietnam Freight forwarder#freight forwarding#cargo courier service#international shipping companies#shipping service company

Mr. Le Quoc Thanh, Director of the National Agricultural Extension Center (left in the photo), encourages farmers to strictly follow the technical production procedures for longan.
With 35 hectares of newly planted Anh Vang 205 longan, yields are expected to increase by at least 20%, providing a stable source of raw material for processing and export. Studies show that this longan variety can maintain its appearance, sweetness, and pulp quality during transportation, making it suitable for export.
The renovation of over 15 hectares of old orchards with Anh Vang 205 is also aimed at boosting yields to over 15 tons per hectare, enhancing production efficiency by about 25% compared to traditional varieties.#freight delivery service#freight and logistics companies#local agent#customs broker#combined truck#crostrade#cfs warehouse#non commercial#cargo#no permit
To ensure the sustainable development of the model, specialized training programs on grafting, planting, and care following VietGAP standards are being intensified. The Sơn La Agricultural Extension Center is directly implementing the project, in collaboration with the Fruit and Vegetable Research Institute (Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences), which supplies seedlings, grafting buds, and fertilizers. Local agricultural and environmental offices, along with district-level agricultural service centers, are also providing support and monitoring the technical procedures.
Mr. Le Quoc Thanh, Director of the National Agricultural Extension Center, emphasized: The development of the Anh Vang 205 longan model not only helps increase farmers’ incomes but also contributes to building a large-scale raw material area that meets high-quality standards and targets export markets.#freight delivery service
Participating households are carefully selected based on critommeeria including land area, technical capability, and commitment to following the production process. Many households are willing to co-invest up to 70 million VND to install drip irrigation systems, clearly showing their confidence in the model’s effectiveness and their focus on applying science and technology.#freight delivery service#freight and logistics companies#local agent#customs broker#combined truck#crostrade#cfs warehouse#non commercial#cargo#no permit
