“Bright Signal” for Wood Exporting Enterprises
Amidst the strong recovery of Vietnam’s wood and wood product export market, freight forwarding services, logistics companies, and sea freight companies are embracing numerous new opportunities. According to data from the General Department of Customs, the export turnover of wood and wood products in the first 4 months of 2024 reached USD 4.84 billion, an increase of 23.7% compared to the same period in 2023 – a positive signal for this industry.

The recovery in demand from major markets such as the United States, China, Canada, and the EU has brought optimism to Vietnamese wood exporters. Many enterprises have received orders until the end of 2024, with the expectation that the industry will accelerate exports, export services in the second quarter, and throughout the year. This has created a significant demand for logistics services, freight forwarding, transportation services, and container transportation. “With Vietnam’s position among the countries with the highest share of wood exports in the world, the domestic wood industry is expanding its export markets and penetrating deeper into important markets,” shared Mr. Ngo Sy Hoai, Vice Chairman of VIFOREST. This requires logistics services, transportation companies, international freight services, and sea freight to continuously improve their quality to meet the increasing demand.
Logistics companies, transportation companies, and import-export services need to proactively enhance their capabilities, invest in modern equipment, and develop a high-quality workforce. Simultaneously, expanding the network and international transportation routes, as well as domestic container transportation, is crucial to serve the increasing export demand of wood enterprises. Additionally, the application of digital technologies and smart logistics solutions to optimize processes will also help improve the efficiency of transportation services and reduce freight rates.
With the opportunities arising from the recovering wood export industry, agile logistics enterprises and providers of international shipping services and cost-effective freight forwarding services will seize the opportunity and develop to become reliable partners for exporting companies.
