Vietnam Hosts FWC 2025: A Golden Opportunity for the Logistics Industry
Vietnam’s logistics sector is on the cusp of a major opportunity to solidify its position on the global transportation map. At the 2024 FIATA World Congress (FWC) in Panama, the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA) officially received the baton to host FWC 2025, scheduled to take place in Hanoi from October 6-10, 2025.
The journey for VLA to win the bid to host FWC 2025 was a long and persistent one. Starting in 2017, and overcoming numerous challenges, including disruptions from the COVID-19 pandemic, VLA officially secured this honor at FWC 2022 in South Korea. This event is not only a point of pride for Vietnam’s logistics industry but also a valuable opportunity to promote the country’s image and potential on the international stage.

Mr. Dao Trong Khoa, Chairman of VLA, emphasized Vietnam’s unique position as a “gateway” to the Indo-Pacific region. With 19 signed free trade agreements, Vietnam is deeply integrated into the global economy, with export-import growth expected to exceed 15% in the coming year. This trade expansion is supported by a rapidly growing logistics industry, with over 45,000 companies playing a vital role in connecting Vietnam to the world.
Vietnam’s logistics infrastructure is also significantly improving. Cai Mep Port, for instance, was ranked 7th among the world’s most efficient container ports in 2023. This enhances Vietnam’s maritime transport capacity and facilitates the development of multimodal transportation, a key trend in modern logistics.
FWC 2025 will focus on the theme “green and fast-adaptive logistics,” reflecting the challenges and opportunities the industry faces. Climate change and sustainability are becoming top priorities, requiring logistics companies to build supply chains that are not only flexible and fast but also cost-effective and sustainable.
Vietnam is demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainable development, as seen in its pledges at COP26. This aligns with global trends and presents an opportunity for Vietnam’s logistics sector to lead the way in adopting green and environmentally friendly transport solutions.
The FWC 2025 event is not only a chance for Vietnam to learn from international experiences but also an occasion for global logistics companies to explore the investment potential and opportunities in Vietnam. With its strategic position in the global supply chain and its commitment to sustainable development, Vietnam is steadily establishing itself as a key logistics hub in the region and the world.
To fully capitalize on this opportunity, Vietnam’s logistics industry needs to continue investing in technology, improving service quality, and developing a highly skilled workforce. Additionally, strengthening international cooperation and deeper integration into the global supply chain will be crucial for Vietnam to become an attractive destination for international logistics companies in the near future.
