Vietnam’s Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery: Export Revival in Early 2025
According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, agricultural, forestry, and fishery exports in February 2025 reached an impressive $4.4 billion, a 37.2% increase compared to the same period last year. This positive signal comes after January 2025 recorded a 4.9% decrease with a value of $5.08 billion. Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien explained that this fluctuation was primarily due to seasonal factors, as the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday fell in mid-February, while in 2025 it occurred at the end of January, causing international shipping activities to be delayed and concentrated in February. Export value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the first two months of 2025 increased by 8.3% compared to the same period last year.
Summarizing the first two months of 2025, the agricultural sector recorded favorable results with all sectors growing compared to the same period last year: agricultural products reached $4.89 billion (up 4.5%), livestock products $72.2 million (up 4%), fishery products $1.42 billion (up 18.6%), and forestry products $2.68 billion (up 11.9%). Regarding export markets, Asia still leads with 42.2% market share, followed by the Americas and Europe with 24.2% and 15.5% respectively. Logistics service providers have expanded their networks to efficiently connect Vietnam with international markets, especially in regions with strong growth rates such as Africa (increasing 2.2 times) and Oceania (up 8.2%).#Vietnam Freight forwarder#freight forwarding#cargo courier service#international shipping companies#shipping service company#freight delivery service#freight and logistics companies
The United States continues to affirm its position as the number one export market with 22% market share and an 18.9% growth rate. This market particularly favors Vietnamese wood products, accounting for 55% of total wood and wood product exports (reaching $2.52 billion, up 12.4%). Freight forwarding companies have developed specialized cargo logistics services to meet the strict requirements of the US market and have optimized freight and shipping processes to minimize costs and reduce shipping times.#Vietnam Freight forwarder#freight forwarding#cargo courier service#international shipping companies#shipping service company
Notably, although some items decreased in volume, they showed strong growth in value due to higher export prices. Coffee is a prime example, decreasing 28.4% in volume but increasing 26.2% in value to $1.58 billion, thanks to average prices surging 76.3% to $5,574.5 per ton. Similarly, pepper recorded a 51.9% increase in value to $188.7 million despite a 9.4% decrease in volume. These fluctuations have required international shipping companies to be flexible in adjusting cargo freight shipping plans, ensuring both product quality and optimal shipping volume.#Vietnam Freight forwarder#freight forwarding#cargo courier service#international shipping companies#shipping service company#freight delivery service#freight and logistics companies
Seafood showed impressive growth of 18.6%, reaching $1.42 billion in the first two months of the year. The main export markets are China (23.3%), Japan (15.5%), and the United States (13.8%). To meet increasingly high requirements for quality and delivery time, shipping services have applied cargo tracking technology and temperature control throughout the transportation process, ensuring seafood maintains its freshness when reaching consumers.#Vietnam Freight forwarder#freight forwarding#cargo courier service#international shipping companies#shipping service company
In the overall picture, some items still recorded declines, such as rice (down 13.6% in value), fruits and vegetables (down 11%), and cashew nuts (down 31.8% in volume and 13.7% in value). These challenges require freight service providers and cargo delivery companies to enhance competitiveness, find solutions to optimize shipping costs, and expand consumer markets.#Vietnam Freight forwarder#freight forwarding#cargo courier service#international shipping companies#shipping service company#freight delivery service#freight and logistics companies
Looking at the prospects for 2025, Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien expressed optimism, stating that with the close guidance of the Government, the agricultural sector has the capacity to adapt to market fluctuations, maintain and promote export growth momentum. “The fluctuations in early 2025 are new drivers for transformation and accelerated development based on the production ecosystem and agricultural economic thinking that has been formed,” the Deputy Minister affirmed.#Vietnam Freight forwarder#freight forwarding#cargo courier service#international shipping companies#shipping service company
