Computers, electronic products, and components regain the No. 1 position in exports
According to the latest statistics from the General Department of Customs, from the beginning of the year to July 15, the export of computers, phones, and components of all kinds reached nearly 65.9 billion USD. Of which, computers, electronic products and components reached 36.32 billion USD; phones and components were 29.57 billion USD. Export services have played an important role in bringing these technology products to the international market.
Computers, electronic products and components alone account for 17.52% of the country’s total export turnover. Notably, this group of goods has a superior turnover compared to the following groups, with a gap of up to 6.75 billion USD compared to the second-ranked group of phones and components. Logistics companies have made a significant contribution to the transportation and distribution of this large volume of goods.

With an export turnover of 36.32 billion USD, computers, electronic products and components have surpassed phones and components to become the largest export group in the country
On the other hand, in the first half of July, the import turnover of computers, electronic products and components reached nearly 5 billion USD, bringing the total import turnover of this group of goods from the beginning of the year to July 15 to 54.3 billion USD. International transportation services have ensured the safe and timely transportation of these electronic components and products to Vietnam.
China and South Korea are the two largest import markets for computers, electronic products and components, accounting for nearly 57% of the country’s total import turnover. Transportation companies have faced major challenges in transporting large volumes of goods from these two countries.
An industry expert said: “Container shipping has become the main mode of transporting electronic products and components, ensuring the safety of goods during international transportation.”
In particular, after many years of leading the country in export turnover, recently, phones and components have lost this position to the group of computers, electronic products and components. Cargo transportation services have had to quickly adapt to this change in the structure of export goods.
According to economic experts’ forecasts, the recovery signal of production and exports is still being positively maintained. A logistics expert commented: “If export orders in the electronics industry maintain as they are now, it is likely that the import turnover of computers, electronic products and components could reach 100 billion USD. This requires thorough preparation from forwarder companies to meet the increasing transportation demand.”
Regarding the export market, both groups of goods have diverse markets across 5 continents. Among them, the largest are the United States, China, and the EU. Shipping is still the main mode of transportation for these products to distant markets. With the support of professional import-export services, Vietnam’s electronics industry has a solid foundation to continue developing and expanding market share in the global market in the coming time.
