In addition to the product displays, AgroChemEx Vietnam 2024 featured conferences delving into Vietnam’s plant protection markets, government regulations, fertilizer trade dynamics and more. A business matching program also facilitated connections between local and foreign companies.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Le Van Thiet, Deputy Director of the Plant Protection Department under Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), emphasized proper management of agricultural inputs as key to achieving ecological, organic, circular and low-emission farming goals.
“This exhibition allows domestic and international agricultural chemical producers and traders to share information, experiences and gain market insights,” Thiet said. “It enables our agencies and businesses to access cutting-edge technologies, solutions and potential R&D and trading partners.”
Guo Wei, Deputy Secretary General of the China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA), a co-organizer, noted the longstanding Vietnam-China cooperation in the pesticides sector. He said the expo will help Chinese enterprises better understand and collaborate with Vietnamese partners.
According to MARD data, Vietnam’s pesticide industry is transitioning towards greener and more sustainable practices. The proportion of biological pesticides used rose from 16.67% in 2021 to 18.49% in 2022, with many domestic and foreign firms investing in bio-pesticide research, production and sales.
The exhibition, expected to attract 2,500 trade visitors, provides an effective channel to promote sustainable agricultural development in the country.
